Key Responsibilities- Assess, develop, and implement total nursing care for pre-operative patients
- Record and report all symptoms, reactions, abnormalities, and changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians
- Care and discharge pre-operative patients according to facility policies
- Review patient charts for accuracy and completeness
- Verify surgical consent and pre-operative workup
- Report pertinent pre-operative information to the OR nurse
- Obtain and label personal belongings and assist patients with O.R. dress attire
- Administer pre-operative sedation
- Function independently in emergency situations
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current Registered Nurse License
- Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications
- Knowledge of healthcare products, stock rotation procedures, storage systems, inventory supplements, preference card management, and credit
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to healthcare products
- Knowledge of inventory control procedures
- Hands-on, self-starter with ability to multi-task, be detail-oriented, and possess superior organization and communication skills
- Ability to handle large volume of detailed work accurately
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Superior leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to bend, stoop, lift, and handle all supplies
- Ability to interact with coworkers, vendors, and management in a pleasant and efficient manner
- Ability to perform simple mathematical functions
- Ability to perform data entry procedures and equipment and supply tracking
