Are you ready to advance your career in one of the fastest-growing sectors in the nation? TelCom Construction is seeking dedicated full-time Traveling Equipment Operators specializing in Telecommunication Construction.


Your Role:
As an Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various machinery utilized in the installation, repair, and maintenance of underground telecommunications systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate trenching and digging machinery at multiple job sites, including Plow, Backhoe/Excavator, Rock Saw, Dozer/Lead Tractor, and Tractor Trailer.
  • Install and maintain underground fiber optic and telecommunications cabling.
  • Restore and landscape areas affected by construction activities.
  • Excavate pits, trenches, and potholes as per project specifications, ensuring safety when working near utilities.
  • Prepare and clean job sites.
  • Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Establish safety perimeters using appropriate signage and barriers.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with digging and trenching equipment, understanding their capabilities and limitations.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and utilize small hand tools.
  • Proficient in reading work orders, safety protocols, and operational guidelines.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record; Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement is highly preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with team members, clients, and suppliers.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Frequent travel across the Telcom service area is required.

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous experience in construction or utility work.
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret utility maps.

Physical Demands:

  • Capability to climb in and out of various equipment.
  • Regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs, with the ability to lift up to 100 lbs when necessary.
  • Engage in physical activities such as standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
  • Work in diverse weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and inclement weather.
