As a Behavior Support Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing skill-acquisition and behavior-reduction plans developed by the supervisor. You will also collect data and conduct certain types of assessments, such as stimulus preference assessments.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing family and caregiver training on the behavior support plan
  • Participating in the development and implementation of each individual's care plans

  • Collecting and recording data to monitor the progress and effectiveness of behavior support plans
  • Implementing behavior support plans written by the BCBA or BCaBa
  • Providing positive behavioral supports according to the behavior support plans and responding to emergency situations as trained
  • Completing documentation as required by Benchmark Human Services and state and federal regulations
