We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at North Mississippi Health Services. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Procedure Preparation: Utilize procedure preference lists to select and arrange supplies, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures.
- Surgeon Assistant: Assist surgeons by performing supervised duties, including passing instruments, sponges, sutures, catheters, drains, and dressings.
- Patient Advocate: Protect patients from potential injury and contamination of the sterile field.
- Communication/Record-Keeping: Restock supplies, straighten the operating room for next use, and maintain accurate records.
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent required; graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology or on-the-job training with two years of scrub experience in an OR setting.
- Certification: Surgical Technologist certification preferred; American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification at HCP Level required.
- Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with patients of all ages.
