Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Emergency Department Technician to join our team at PeaceHealth. As a key member of our emergency department team, you will provide direct patient care activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Physician.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist nursing staff and other care team members with patient care, including receiving patients by ambulance and from triage, assisting with ambulatory patients, and setting up and assisting with procedures.
  • Obtain patient vital signs, dress or undress patients, and provide treatment supplies as needed.
  • Perform basic patient observation skills and report significant changes in patient condition to the appropriate team member.
  • Maintain unit supplies by stocking patient rooms and supply areas to meet patient care needs.
  • Perform clerical and communication functions to support departmental operations and patient care.
Requirements
  • Accredited Program Required: Acute Care Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or Emergency Medical Technician.
  • Minimum of 1 year Required: Work experience as a Certified or Registered Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, or EMT.
  • Preferred: Prior acute care hospital experience and previous leadership/supervisory experience.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to lift patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices. You will also need to be able to move around the area with occasional sitting, frequent reaching/bending/squatting/kneeling/grasping, and lift/carry up to 15 lbs. occasionally up to 20 lbs.
