Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Altru Health. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working closely with our medical team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and document evaluations and patient assessments to identify patient needs and develop effective care plans.
  • Provide diagnostic and therapeutic treatment, as well as education and support to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to modify care plans based on patient progress and identify significant changes in patient condition.
  • Document all patient interactions and care provided, including electronic medical records and medication charting.
  • Process patient charges and run reports as needed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on respiratory equipment and ensure proper tagging and delivery to the appropriate department.
Requirements
  • Certification as a Respiratory Therapist from the North Dakota State Board of Respiratory Care or Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications within 6 months of hire.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk frequently, and to lift, carry, and push/pull medium-weight objects.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in an indoor environment with occasional exposure to extreme temperatures.
