Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Altru Health. As a key member of our respiratory care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and education to patients with respiratory conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and document evaluations and patient assessments to identify patient needs and develop effective care plans.
  • Provide diagnostic and therapeutic treatment, including ventilator management and oxygen therapy, to patients with respiratory conditions.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans that meet individual patient needs.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families to promote self-care and independence.
  • Identify and report significant changes in patient condition to healthcare teams and document accordingly.
Requirements
  • Respiratory Therapist certification from the North Dakota State Board of Respiratory Care or Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications within 6 months of hire.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent standing, walking, and reaching, as well as occasional lifting and bending. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing patient needs.
