We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team at WellSpan Health. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our outpatient clinic.
Job Summary:The Physical Therapist Assistant will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide treatment and exercise instruction to patients at an entry to intermediate skill level. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Responsibilities:- Carry out a program of exercise and treatment for assigned patients, as determined by evaluation performed by the Physical Therapist.
- Assist the Physical Therapist during patient testing, evaluations, and complex procedures according to the rules and regulations of the APTA and PPTA.
- Coordinate physical therapy activities in collaboration with the other members of the interdisciplinary team to facilitate achievement of established goals.
- Ensure compliance with regulations set forth by the regulatory agencies and state governing bodies.
- Conduct or participate in training medical and nursing personnel in physical therapy techniques and objectives.
- Utilize safe patient handling techniques for all patient transfers, lifts, and positioning.
- Comply with PA practice act related to communication with supervising Physical Therapist.
- Associates Degree Required
- Less than 1 year Relevant experience. Required
- Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant Upon Hire Required
- Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize tasks effectively. The Physical Therapist Assistant will be required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods, as well as to lift and move patients as needed.
