Overview:

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) plays a crucial role in assessing student needs and progress, developing tailored interventions such as behavior support plans and skill acquisition programs.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and determine necessary behavior supports.
  • Collaborate with classroom staff, families, and clinical teams to implement effective interventions.
  • Train staff on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Participate in the intake process for prospective students, including record reviews and assessments.
  • Model ethical practices and ensure compliance with ethical standards.

Physical and Emotional Job Responsibilities:
  • Engage in various work settings, including desks, virtual platforms, and meetings.
  • Stand and circulate for extended periods.
  • Observe students and review data and research literature.
  • Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Manage moderate to high stress levels while interacting with students and staff.

Educational Programming:
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating instructional programs.
  • Review individual student program data and assist in behavioral intervention strategies.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to family consultation services.

Instructional Training:
  • Attend and assist in pre-service and in-service training sessions.
  • Coordinate training for newly hired instructional personnel.
  • Provide feedback to staff based on student data.

Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field.
  • Certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
  • Three to five years of experience working with children with Autism/PDD preferred.

Work Environment:

The BCBA will work under the supervision of the Clinical Coordinator and/or Executive Director, reporting to the Principal for administrative matters. Regular work hours are typically from 8:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
