We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Medical Assistant Specialist to join our Cedar Crosse Research Center team. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to our patients.

**Job Summary:**

  • We are looking for a Medical Assistant to work in a fast-paced clinical research environment, providing exceptional care and support to our patients.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Document patient medical history and ensure accuracy
  • Explain treatment procedures to patients in a clear and concise manner
  • Prepare patients for examinations and ensure their comfort
  • Assist the physician during examinations and procedures
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens with attention to detail
  • Perform basic laboratory tests efficiently
  • Provide patient instructions on medication use and special diets with empathy and clarity
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed by a licensed provider
  • Handle prescription refills as directed by the physician
  • Perform phlebotomy with care and professionalism
  • Taking electrocardiograms and ensuring accurate results
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and stock levels in clinic exam rooms and common areas

**Administrative Tasks:

  • Manage patient information using computer applications
  • Answer telephones with a warm, welcoming tone
  • Greet and welcome patients, ensuring a positive first impression
  • Update and file patient medical records accurately
  • Coding and completing insurance forms meticulously
  • Schedule appointments efficiently and accommodate patients' needs
  • Handle correspondence, billing, and bookkeeping tasks with attention to detail

**Clinical Research Obligations:

  • Support the Principal Investigator and study team with assigned study tasks

**Qualifications:**

  • Diploma or certificate in a related field (e.g., medical assisting)
  • 2+ years of experience in a clinical or research setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

**Compensation Package:** The estimated salary for this position is $42,000 - $52,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth and development.

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8-hour shift, with occasional weekend availability.
