Overview of the role:

This position is integral to the Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) team, which plays a crucial role in enhancing the operational efficiency of the State of Montana. We collaborate with various agency human resources professionals to deliver innovative solutions and services that support our workforce.

As an Application Engineer, you will provide technical analysis and development support for the State's Oracle PeopleSoft HCM system. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting user issues, designing applications, developing reports and interfaces, and implementing new functionalities and custom solutions. If you have a passion for resolving intricate technical challenges and delivering exceptional customer service, this role is for you.

Required Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in computer technology or a related discipline, coupled with a minimum of two years of experience in application development and analysis. Familiarity with the PeopleSoft Toolset, including PeopleTools, SQR, SQL, Application Designer, Application Engine, PeopleCode, XML Publisher, and REST integration is highly desirable. Alternative combinations of education and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis.

Key Competencies:

Proficiency in technical analysis and programming support for complex systems; Strong communication skills to effectively engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders; Up-to-date knowledge in technology, troubleshooting, system design, and development; Skills in project leadership and planning.
