Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Histology Technician to join our team in Needham, Mass. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing Histology and Immunohistochemistry procedures and techniques in preparation for examination by the Pathologist.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receives and logs surgical specimens, assigning them an accession number and entering specimen data and patient information in the computer.
  • Checks for errors and discrepancies, bringing them to the supervisor's attention.
  • Performs advanced and specialized Histology and Immunohistochemistry techniques, including embedding, cutting, staining, and coverslipping.
  • Prepares and troubleshoots special stain solutions.
  • Assists the Histology Supervisor in administrative requirements, such as procedure writing.
Requirements
  • Associates degree (AS) or equivalent education, training, or experience.
  • Certified Histotechnician (HT) through the American Society for Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent certification.
