Painter Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Painter Helper to join our team at Intermountain Electronics Inc. in Price, Utah. As a Painter Helper, you will play a crucial role in assisting daily operations in the paint department, with opportunities to train and become an Industrial Painter.

Provide labor support to the paint department, assisting with equipment preparation, painting, and finishing tasks. Collaborate with the Paint Supervisor to ensure efficient and high-quality work.

• Prepare equipment for painting by cleaning, washing, and applying caulk, taping, and masking.
• Lift and hang pieces on a rack for cleaning and painting.
• Operate a pressure washer and various sizes and makes of forklifts.
• Operate an overhead crane and wear a respirator as required.
• Prepare and clean surfaces, re-tap holes, paint, and finish to OEM condition.
• Disassemble, clean, and repair equipment as needed.
• Keep work areas clean and organized, practicing good housekeeping.

Under supervision, training could be provided to learn industrial painting, including:

• Learning and maintaining paint equipment.
• Removing paint and finishes, preparing surfaces for application.
• Identifying surface characteristics and ensuring proper preparation and application of coatings.
• Mixing and matching paints and other finishes.
• Applying various coatings, including epoxies, enamels, urethanes, paints, varnishes, stains, and lacquers.
• Checking for quality during the course of a job to ensure coating is applied according to specifications.

• High School or GED preferred, with completion of at least 10th grade education required, plus up to one-month related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Ability to lift 20 lbs., frequently lift/move 40 lbs., occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to perform frequent heavy lifting and continual bending and standing on a concrete floor.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports, and speak effectively before groups.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, and compute rate, ratio, and percent.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
• Must be able to use a computer to log in time and job hours.
• Must possess valid OSHA forklift and Overhead Crane certification or ability to obtain such.
• Must be able to pass a Pulmonary Functions Test to wear a respirator.

Must be able to work a 40-hour work week and additional time as required.
