Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care to patients with various types of cancer, including chemotherapy and infusion therapy.
- Conduct thorough assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and perform other medical procedures as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research, technologies, and best practices in oncology nursing.
- Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited school.
- Current NYS license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Current NYS license as a Nurse Practitioner.
- National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Maintains a current collaborative practice agreement.
- BCLS certification required; ACLS certification required (as of 6/1/21).
- Minimum two years' experience in an acute care setting preferred.
- ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Certification (only required if working in the Infusion Center).
- All registered nurses and advanced practice nurses providing direct oncology care must demonstrate one of the following:
- Current cancer-specific certification in the nurse's specialty by an accredited certification program.
- Oncology nursing certifications that qualify include, but are not limited to: AOCNP, AOCNS, AOCN, BMTCN, CPHON, CPON, CBCN OCN.
- Ongoing education by earning 36 cancer-related continuing education nursing contact hours every 3 years (maintained by department manager).
- Competitive hourly rate of $120.00 per hour.
