Job Summary

As a PeriAnesthesi Medical Assistant at Surgery Partners, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinical setting. Your responsibilities will include patient preparation for procedures, performing patient EKGs, collecting medical history, and maintaining sterile technique. You will also be responsible for routine disinfection of clinical care areas between patients, administering medications and injections, and communicating effectively with patients, perianesthesia staff, and anesthesia personnel.

Key Responsibilities

• Room surgical patients and assist with pre-surgical preparations, including taking medical histories, recording vital signs, and preparing the surgical site.
• Explain treatment procedures to patients and prepare them for examination or procedure.
• Measure vital signs, collect data, and document information accurately.
• Perform patient EKGs and report abnormal findings to the anesthesia/clinical team.
• Assist with patient discharge from the post-anesthesia care unit.
• Anticipate and set up special equipment and supplies needed for visits.
• Clean and prepare rooms for the next patient.
• Respond to needs to expedite visits and keep on schedule.
• Adhere to hand hygiene and standard precaution guidelines.

Requirements

• Certification as a CMA, Pharmacy Tech, CNA, or EMT is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Prior healthcare experience and/or training is preferred.
