Job Title: Special Education Clerk

Flour Bluff Independent School District is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Special Education Clerk to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Special Education Clerk will be responsible for scheduling ARD meetings, sending out ARD notices, and ensuring necessary paperwork is complete and available for diagnostic staff. This role will also involve compiling an assessment list for all special education students and tracking the correctness of data.

Responsibilities:
  • Compile and disseminate ARD information to educational diagnosticians, speech pathologists, counselors, OT, PT staff members
  • Schedule ARD meetings and send out ARD notices
  • Track necessary paperwork and have it available for diagnostic staff
  • Compile assessment list for all special education students and track correctness of data
  • Maintain logs of incoming/outgoing student records
  • Maintain a database for all state and alternative testing
  • Disseminate and score rating scales prior to outside testing
  • Gather data from various sources prior to outside testing
  • Compile data from parent and staff surveys
  • Notify special transportation by phone and inter-office mail of new special education students
  • Access computer for pertinent information needed for scheduling
  • Assist the Assistant Special Ed Director in notifying, receiving, and organizing updated IEPs
  • Answer and direct incoming calls
  • Assist the secretary with any duties needed
  • Ensure records are processed in a timely manner
  • Maintain inventory of assessment components
  • Maintain record of materials checked in and out of Special Ed office
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Certification as per TEA rules and regulations
Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position with a regular schedule. The Special Education Clerk will work in a fast-paced office environment and will be required to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
