The Electrical Maintenance Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and dependability of production equipment and machinery. This position involves formulating and implementing maintenance strategies aimed at reducing operational interruptions. The engineer will collaborate closely with the Maintenance Head and coordinate with production teams and suppliers to meet the company’s objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and update engineering documentation, including Work Standards, Control Plans, PFMEA, and Work Instructions.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks to guarantee the efficient functioning of machinery.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, formulating maintenance plans to minimize downtime.
- Analyze operational data to identify patterns, diagnose issues, and devise solutions to enhance equipment reliability.
- Work in partnership with production teams and management to create maintenance plans aligned with business priorities.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards during maintenance operations and proactively address potential safety risks.
- Maintain technical documentation, schematics, and procedures to support maintenance efforts.
- Engage in continuous training and development to improve technical skills and knowledge.
- Ensure that product and process quality adhere to required specifications.
- Enhance manufacturing efficiency by analyzing production processes, logistics, and equipment layouts.
- Lead and support initiatives focused on continuous improvement and problem-solving.
- Implement strategies for ongoing reductions in scrap, cycle times, and equipment downtime.
- Ensure adherence to standardized processes for data management and reporting.
- Generate and implement ideas for cost savings, labor efficiency, material flow optimization, and safety enhancements.
- Communicate effectively with relevant departments to address any operational challenges.
- Ensure that production teams follow standardized work practices consistently across shifts.
- Review specifications for process machinery and tooling to confirm compliance with manufacturing standards.
- Adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies.
- May perform additional related duties as required.
- Experience in maintenance within a vehicle battery production environment is preferred.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- At least two years of experience in production maintenance engineering within the automotive sector.
- Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD software (AutoCAD/CATIA).
Skills and Competencies
- Strong understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with Robotics, PLCs, and VFDs.
- Basic knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
- Proficient in AutoCAD and SAP for maintenance management.
- Competent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent analytical and conceptual abilities, with a strong focus on problem-solving.
- Effective organizational skills, capable of managing multiple projects concurrently.
