  • Team Development: Assist in training and mentoring store and lumber yard staff on operational procedures.
  • Store Walkthroughs: Regularly inspect the store and yard to identify and rectify any issues.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee stock levels to optimize inventory turnover and profitability.
  • Freight Handling: Assist in the unloading of shipments and the organization of merchandise on shelves.
  • Administrative Support: Aid the General Manager and Office Manager with various administrative duties, including inventory orders and payroll management.
  • Loss Prevention: Support initiatives aimed at minimizing losses.
  • Display Management: Collaborate with merchandising teams to maintain promotional and permanent displays.
  • Department Oversight: Ensure assigned departments are well-maintained.
  • Safety Compliance: Uphold safety standards and participate in safety training.
  • Acting Management: Assume management duties in the absence of the General Manager.
  • Workplace Safety: Ensure a secure working environment by being vigilant and reporting safety concerns.
  • Policy Adherence: Follow all company policies and procedures diligently.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional customer service and communication abilities.
  • Leadership: Strong supervisory and leadership capabilities.
  • Task Management: Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Technical Proficiency: Competent in computer skills.
Physical Requirements:

The ideal candidate should be capable of fulfilling all physical demands of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Extended periods of standing and walking within the retail and lumber yard.
  • Ability to lift items weighing up to 40 lbs as needed.
Work Schedule:

This is a full-time role, requiring 45 hours per week, with varying days and hours, including evenings and weekends.

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years of retail experience, preferably in the hardware or lumber sector.
  • Experience in employee supervision is advantageous.
  • Management experience is a plus.
