Position Overview
The Patient Care Transport Specialist is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of patients, their belongings, medical documentation, and specimens throughout the healthcare facility to support optimal patient care. The specific duties and responsibilities may differ based on the requirements of the Aramark location and the needs of the client.
Key Responsibilities
  • Exhibits a courteous, efficient, and positive customer service demeanor towards patients, clients, and colleagues.
  • Responds promptly to the needs of patients and staff.
  • Safely transports patients along with their belongings, medical records, specimens, and equipment to various departments within the facility.
  • Assists in the safe movement of patients who may have medical devices such as IVs, drainage systems, or oxygen, while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Utilizes electronic devices or computers effectively to manage calls and requests, keeping the dispatcher informed of the status of assigned tasks.
  • Follows established protocols to accurately verify patient identity using two identifiers before transport.
  • Facilitates patient admissions and discharges, assisting patients in entering and exiting vehicles as per departmental safety guidelines.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patient information in accordance with established policies.
  • Responsible for the respectful and timely transport of deceased individuals to the morgue, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Complies with all safety regulations and training programs to ensure a secure working environment, including adherence to OSHA and other relevant regulations.
  • Maintains compliance with Aramark’s operational standards and Business Conduct Policy, ensuring all records and reports meet local, state, and federal regulations.

Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Fluency in the English language is required.
  • Ability to remain composed in challenging situations.
  • Capable of working effectively under time constraints.
  • Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions with common sense understanding.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances are essential.

This position may involve physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and prolonged periods of standing or walking.

Uniforms and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required for this role.
