Position Overview

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will play a pivotal role in providing advanced engineering solutions within a dynamic organization focused on technology development and innovation. This position is integral to the mission of managing complex engineering challenges in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be tasked with a variety of engineering functions, including but not limited to:
  • Design and drafting of engineering solutions

  • Collaborating with various stakeholders including national laboratories and industry partners

Technical Leadership

The Engineer will assume technical oversight for multiple technology development initiatives, ensuring effective coordination with external organizations and facilitating the resolution of technical discrepancies.

Cost and Schedule Management

Prepare accurate cost estimates and schedules for assigned projects, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and resource availability.

Problem Solving and Innovation

Utilize creative problem-solving skills to identify and implement engineering alternatives that enhance project outcomes and reduce costs.

Documentation and Reporting

Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation, including manuals, reports, and procedural guidelines, ensuring clarity and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Experience ranging from two to seven years, depending on the grade level

Desired:
  • Previous experience collaborating with national laboratories
