You will utilize your artistic vision and technical expertise to create costumes that reflect the era, mood, and characteristics needed for each production, whether it's for theater, film, or television. This position requires a keen understanding of fabrics, colors, and styles, along with a passion for storytelling through visual means. You will be responsible for sourcing materials, overseeing fittings, and ensuring that each costume is tailored to perfection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with directors and production teams to understand costume requirements for each project.
  • Research historical and contemporary fashion trends relevant to project themes.
  • Create costume sketches and mood boards to communicate design concepts effectively.
  • Select and source fabrics, materials, and accessories for costume creation.
  • Oversee costume fittings and alterations to ensure proper fit and comfort for actors.
  • Manage costume budgets and deadlines to meet production schedules.
  • Maintain and organize costume inventory for easy access during rehearsals and performances.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Costume Design, Fashion Design, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Costume Designer with a strong portfolio of previous work.
  • Proficient in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite and drafting tools.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction and textile properties.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with team members and clients.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Passion for storytelling and a keen eye for detail in costume design.
