Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Lead the design of natural gas facilities, including regulator stations, public works relocations, and system renewal projects.
  • Team Management: Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing technical direction and oversight to ensure high-quality designs.
  • Project Management: Serve as project manager, assisting in determining project objectives, outlining project requirements, and coordinating project activities with other operating units.
  • Business Acumen: Review engineering designs to provide cost-effective solutions, apply knowledge of pipeline design, and proficiently apply codes and standards.
  • Engagement: Collaborate with construction management, operations managers, and technical services to produce effective designs, manage staff performance, and identify issues that put projects at risk.
  • Driving Results: Identify and resolve obstacles, provide technical guidance, track projects from concept to construction, and account for budget variances.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a recognized engineering specialty from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Experience: 5+ years of gas engineering or operations experience, with knowledge of gas engineering principles, operation of gas distribution systems, and financial and statistical analysis.
  • Certifications/Licenses: Professional Engineering (PE) License and/or Certified Project Manager.
Preferred Skills
  • Technical Skills: Good technical and computer skills, CAD/GIS, and MS Office proficiency.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills, ability to communicate with all levels in the organization, and acting with a sense of urgency.
Working Conditions
  • Office Environment: The incumbent normally works in an office environment.
  • Physical Requirements: The incumbent may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, or chemicals, and may be required to lift up to 25 pounds.
