Entergy's Power Generation division manages a diverse portfolio of over 30 natural gas, coal, oil, hydro, solar, and petroleum coke facilities, boasting a total engineering capacity exceeding 20,000 megawatts. We are actively investing in new hydrogen-capable natural gas units, solar, wind, and other technologies to enhance our existing nuclear, natural gas, coal, oil, hydroelectric, and solar facilities.

*This position may be filled as a Maintenance Operator (MO), MO 1, 2, 3, 4, Journeyman Maintenance Operator (JMO), or MO Tech based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.*

Job Qualifications:
  • Under general supervision, with some latitude for planning and executing work details, candidates must perform basic mechanical tasks related to the inspection, repair, installation, testing, adjustment, and calibration of meters, instruments, and automatic combustion control equipment in generating stations. Candidates should also be capable of performing basic electrical work related to the inspection, repair, or installation of electrical equipment in generating stations and substations.
  • Responsible for the operation of equipment within a central controlled turbo-generator-boiler system and its associated fuel handling facilities during specific shifts. Depending on the employee's primary skill set, they may be required to perform complex duties in mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation and control skills.
  • Check the functioning of governors and controls, perform general tests on boilers, turbines, pumps, and other related mechanical equipment, and maintain proper combustion.
  • Prepare records and reports, and perform necessary housekeeping duties.
Experience and Special Qualifications:

MO: No experience required

JMO - MO Tech: Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a maintenance operator or equivalent experience in power plant operations and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with mechanical measuring devices, instruments, controls, and the principles of electricity.
  • Ability to understand and execute operations of moderate complexity.
  • Knowledge of steam boilers, turbo-generators, pumps, and their auxiliary equipment.
Physical Qualifications:

MO: Minimum age of 18

JMO - MO Tech: Must possess full mental and physical faculties and the strength and endurance for demanding labor.

Personal Qualifications:
  • Alertness in observing hazards and avoiding accidents.
  • Willingness to participate in safety meetings and work under various conditions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and inspire confidence among supervisors and peers.
Certificates and Licenses:
  • Successful completion of the EEI POSS/MASS test is required.
Working Conditions:
As a provider of essential services, employees are expected to be available for additional hours and duties as necessary.
