Job Overview

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a skilled Technical Test Automation Specialist to support a large Department of Veterans Affairs nationwide program.

About the Role

This full-time position offers an estimated salary range of $93,725 - $114,650 and requires experience working in an agile environment. The successful candidate will have comprehensive technical expertise on IT products, operating systems, software, hardware, systems, and networks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Electing or identifying areas/test cases for automation
  • Designing & implementing test automation strategy
  • Creating automation test plans and getting approvals
  • Configuring Selenium test environments (e.g., Eclipse IDE, Java, Selenium WebDriver, and TestNG)
  • Managing test automation resources
  • Developing and executing automated tests
  • Extending existing test automation frameworks and tools
  • Integrating with CI/CD tools and pipelines (e.g., Jenkins)
  • Troubleshooting and documenting defects
  • Documenting QA procedures for the team
  • Collaborating with engineering and QA teams to manage and improve the development pipeline
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software/Systems Engineering, or equivalent technical degree
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to overall company success
  • Experience working in an agile environment
  • Comprehensive technical expertise on IT products, operating systems, software, hardware, systems, and networks
  • Experience developing test plans and test procedures
Additional Requirements
  • 8+ years of automated software development and testing experience
  • Java, C#, or Python development experience
  • Flat file processing, API, or backend testing experience
  • Visual Studio experience
  • T-SQL experience
Location

This position is based in Florida, although other locations may be considered dependent upon candidate qualifications and other factors.
