Job Summary:
To fulfill the role of School Nurse during his/her absence, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing various duties, including:
- Administering treatments and medications as per medical orders.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date health records.
- Informing faculty and staff of students with special health needs, as required.
- Interpreting health status to students, parents, and school personnel while maintaining confidentiality.
- Observing students to determine health needs and providing guidance accordingly.
- Authorizing the exclusion and/or re-admission of students with infectious diseases.
- Providing first aid in accordance with established procedures.
- Serving as a health consultant and resource person for classroom teachers and conducting health-related classes when requested.
- Advising on modifications to the education program to meet the health needs of individual students through the Chapter 766 process.
- Assuming authority for the care of students or staff members who have suffered injury or emergency illness, in the absence of a physician.
Reports to: Building Principal and Administrator of Special Education and Student Support Services
This is a temporary position with limited benefits.
Pay Rate: $230.00 per day
