Your focus will be on our patients, who are at the heart of everything we do. As a Hanger Prosthetist and/or Orthotist, you will leverage extensive training and collaborate with a clinical community of nearly 1600 providers to deliver comprehensive prosthetic and orthotic care. Your responsibilities will include assessing patients, developing treatment plans, implementing those plans, and ensuring follow-up care, all while participating in practice management.
Key ResponsibilitiesDepending on the operational needs and size of the Hanger Clinic, your role may encompass some or all of the following:
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to evaluate patient needs for prosthetic and/or orthotic services and recommend treatment options.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patient needs related to medical conditions and functional impairments.
- Design prosthetic and/or orthotic devices tailored to individual patient requirements.
- Select appropriate materials and perform necessary measurements and modifications.
- Conduct fittings, ensuring both static and dynamic alignments are achieved.
- Evaluate and adjust devices to ensure optimal fit, function, and quality.
- Instruct patients on the proper use of their devices.
- Address and resolve any issues to ensure patient satisfaction.
- Maintain communication with patients and healthcare providers for follow-up care.
- Provide training to healthcare professionals regarding prosthetic and orthotic services.
- Utilize effective materials management to ensure high-quality outcomes while balancing costs.
- Engage with referral sources to enhance business relationships and secure ongoing referrals.
- Develop strategies to meet revenue targets in collaboration with management.
- Document detailed clinical notes in patient records.
- Mentor residents or newly certified clinicians as needed.
- Assist other clinical staff and provide information for reimbursement activities.
- Adhere to safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned.
- Current board certification in Prosthetics and/or Orthotics from the American Board for Certification (ABC) or the Board of Certification (BOC).
- A baccalaureate degree in prosthetics and/or orthotics or equivalent experience.
- A valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company standards.
- Ability to obtain and maintain state licensure where required.
- Consideration may be given to candidates with extensive experience under supervision.
- Strong understanding of biomechanics, pathomechanics, and kinesiology.
- Effective communication skills for clear presentations and reports.
- Ability to assess patient conditions and advise on treatment options.
- Good interpersonal skills to build relationships with patients and healthcare providers.
