About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical CAD (ECAD) Application Engineer to join our Design Technologies team at Amazon Devices Hardware Engineering. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing a stable, performant, and reliable set of best-in-class software tools for hardware engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate new features and functions within existing or potential ECAD tools to determine their potential benefits.
  • Collaborate with ECAD tool vendors to resolve issues with vendor-supplied code and advocate for enhancements and bug fixes.
  • Develop and implement processes to enable successful and rapid development of innovative hardware products.
  • Evangelize and drive adoption of ECAD tools through process development and training.
  • Define best practices through documentation and requirements definition for development of ECAD automation.
  • Manage and maintain EDA scripts/automations, ECAD application extensions.
  • Support engineering tools and process automations by collaborating with teams responsible for working with Product Data Management (PDM), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and CAD systems.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with prototyping and implementation.
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks simulation or Ansys Finite Element analysis tools.
  • Experience in the design of complex mechanical products and equipment at volume.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $105,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
