We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Recess Sports Leader to join our team at the YMCA of Metropolitan L.A. The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing the recess and lunch experiences for students in the Newhall School District.
Key Responsibilities- Program Development: Design and implement engaging recess and lunch programs that promote physical activity, teamwork, and social skills among students.
- Leadership and Supervision: Provide guidance and support to students during recess and lunch, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Communication and Teamwork: Build strong relationships with teachers, staff, and students, and work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve program goals.
- Program Evaluation and Improvement: Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous experience working with children, preferably in a recreational or educational setting.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse groups of students, and knowledge of physical education principles and practices.
- Certifications: First aid and CPR certification required.
The Recess Sports Leader will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, interacting with students, teachers, and staff on a regular basis. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service and program delivery.
