Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse Educator assumes responsibility and accountability for conducting Nursing Orientation, Skills Lab, and for Annual Competencies and Skills. This role requires a combination of clinical and administrative expertise, with a focus on developing and implementing educational programs for nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Nursing Orientation and Skills Lab
  • Develop and implement educational programs for nursing staff
  • Assist in other administrative duties as assigned by the Department Director/CNS

Qualifications

  • CA RN license
  • BSN or MSN required
  • BLS from AHA or ARC
  • Ambulatory certification preferred
  • Ambulatory clinic Minimum of 5 years' experience
  • Clinical Educator minimum of 3 years preferred

Requirements

  • Ability to assess learning styles
  • Skill in developing educational material for orientation and skills
  • Ability to recognize the need to reassess education needs
  • Ability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other computer programs
  • Ability to understand oral and written directions
  • Ability to read and write Standard English
  • Ability to communicate (orally, written) clearly and concisely
  • Ability to apply adult learning theories and strategies
