Wellington, Florida, United States Farm Bureau Financial Services Full time

Agricultural Risk Assessment Specialist

**Position will be determined based on experience level**

Are you a proactive individual with a strong drive, a positive demeanor, and exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities? Do you possess a background in agriculture or insurance and have a passion for assisting others in achieving their goals? If you are self-motivated and capable of working independently, this opportunity may be ideal for you.

We are looking for an Agricultural Risk Assessment Specialist who will focus on generating profitable new business through lead generation and field engagement, particularly through direct client interactions. In this capacity, you will work closely with Farm Bureau Agents, engaging with both prospective and existing client-members throughout the state.

About Us: At Farm Bureau Financial Services, we ensure our client/members can trust that their families, homes, vehicles, and other assets are safeguarded. We foster a culture rooted in integrity, teamwork, passion, service, leadership, and accountability, which guides our decisions and actions. We take pride in our long-standing commitment to protecting the livelihoods and futures of our client/members while cultivating an environment where our employees can flourish.

Key Responsibilities: As an Agricultural Risk Assessment Specialist, you will evaluate agricultural properties alongside agents prior to policy finalization. You will exercise underwriting judgment to assess rates and risk selection for agricultural business lines. This includes making decisions regarding modifications, rejections, cancellations, and non-renewals in line with our policies. Additionally, you will oversee the existing portfolio to mitigate company losses. It is essential to have experience in marketing, agriculture, and insurance to effectively build rapport with our client/members. This role allows for remote work, giving you control over your territory to expand agricultural business, with a requirement to reside in the state.

Qualifications:

  • A college degree or equivalent, along with a minimum of 1 year of relevant insurance experience is required. Experience in agriculture or farming is preferred.
  • Strong customer service skills are essential, including effective verbal communication and professional writing abilities. A consistently positive, customer-focused attitude is necessary.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills are required.
  • Proficiency in computer skills is necessary to quickly adapt to our various systems.
  • Staying informed about local, state, and federal regulations is crucial to ensure compliance with government standards and company policies.
  • The ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and adjust priorities to meet corporate and business unit objectives is essential.
  • A valid driver's license and the capacity to travel are required. Travel typically occurs during work hours (50%+) for field appointments within your designated territory, with some limited overnight travel. A company vehicle will be provided.
  • Progress toward industry certifications is expected (AIC, AU, AFIS, CIC, and CPCU).

What We Provide: As part of our team, you will receive more than just a competitive salary. We offer career development and educational opportunities, an enhanced 401K plan with matching contributions, affordable health, dental, and vision insurance, as well as life and disability coverage. Additional benefits include paid time off, holidays, volunteer time, and a company vehicle and cell phone.

Work Authorization:

Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. We are unable to sponsor employment visas or work authorizations for this position.
