Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic/Master Tradesperson 2 to join our team at Huntington Ingalls Industries. As a key member of our Refueling and Complex Overhaul (RCOH) team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of the Navy's aircraft carriers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, operate, maintain, repair, and modify equipment to support the RCOH process.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions to eliminate problems in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective customer communications and relations.
  • Provide onsite training to customer support personnel as needed.
  • Apply knowledge of production and processes to assignments, performing a variety of complicated tasks.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years of related experience.
  • Knowledge and experience with troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs of mechanical systems and associated equipment.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD confidential security clearance and maintain clearance level throughout employment.
  • Must be able to obtain base access credentials within 60 days of start date and maintain credentials throughout employment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Candidates with vocational school, apprenticeship program, or skilled trades certificate program experience are preferred.
  • Current or active DoD clearance.
  • OSHA 10 Maritime Certification is a plus.
  • Previous knowledge of Navy Tag Out program, NSTM 300, and 3M manual.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, carry, and transport heavy equipment and boxes (minimum 30 lbs).
  • Ability to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions, and in confined spaces.
  • Ability to perform other duties as required, which may involve high heat, humidity, noise, and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels.
