Research Fellow in Aerospace Engineering

The Department of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics is actively seeking applications for Research Fellow positions. These roles are available on a continuous basis and may be filled as needed by the Search Committee in collaboration with various Principal Investigators.
Appointment Details
These appointments are temporary and can vary from 10% to 100% Full-Time Equivalent (FTE), depending on research funding and contract terms. Renewals are contingent upon ongoing need, available funding, and the individual’s performance. Salary is determined by the hiring faculty member within the University’s guidelines. The duration of these positions can range from three months to three years, with specific titles and salaries based on funding and candidate qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities for these positions may include but are not limited to:
1. Designing, implementing, and evaluating research initiatives.
2. Collecting and analyzing data.
3. Developing instruments and procedures for data collection.
4. Training and supervising personnel involved in data collection.
5. Collaborating on reports, conference papers, and publications.
Research will be conducted in various domains of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics as dictated by the faculty’s research needs. Occasional teaching responsibilities may be assigned, typically limited to one course per semester, focusing on the specific area of research.
Qualifications
A Ph.D. degree is required in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics or a related engineering discipline. Degrees in physical sciences, mathematics, or computer science may also be considered if relevant to the project.
