Role Objective:
Acts as a clinical authority to guarantee that patient care requirements are fulfilled, safe practices are upheld, quality benchmarks are achieved, and an outstanding care experience is delivered. Functions as a clinical resource that guides peers in all facets of patient care execution and fosters continuous professional growth. Provides daily leadership to synchronize patient and family needs with human (staff) and material resources within the department and organization through collaborative engagement with others.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversees and organizes patient care on the unit.
- Ensures that patient care, quality, and safety standards are consistently met for all patients through compassionate and leader rounding, leader standard work, and executes service recovery as necessary.
- Acts as a mentor for colleagues by enhancing critical thinking abilities in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient's care plan.
- Collaborates with the Unit Based Educator, Clinical Consultants, and Nurse Consultants to foster and deliver clinical and professional development by identifying educational needs, sharing clinical insights, and structuring educational plans to enhance understanding and professional advancement.
- Assists in the recruitment, onboarding, development, and performance evaluation processes in collaboration with the clinical nurse manager/director.
- Recognizes colleagues, promotes, and exemplifies a positive work environment, teamwork, and staff engagement.
- Utilizes problem-solving techniques to address patient and staff safety concerns, unmet quality outcomes, and adverse patient care experiences, escalating as necessary.
- Leads initiatives for performance enhancement and problem resolution to improve patient and staff safety, quality outcomes, and patient care experiences to ensure root causes are identified and evaluated for improvement opportunities.
Full Time 36 hours per week, Night shift 7pm - 7:30am, with scheduled holidays and weekends
Qualifications:
- Current RN license in the state of Iowa.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or commitment to complete within five years of hire.
- Preferred Master's degree in nursing or health-related field.
- Professional certification in clinical specialty.
- A minimum of three years of professional nursing experience relevant to the responsibilities.
- Education Assistance available.
