Corporate Counsel

Overview

Suburban Propane is seeking a highly skilled Corporate Counsel to provide legal assistance and guidance to our operating departments. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in helping us achieve our goals and objectives while minimizing associated legal risks.

Responsibilities

As a Corporate Counsel, you will serve as a primary legal resource to our business units, interacting directly with internal clients and external customers. You will be responsible for performing legal tasks in support of our designated objectives, providing legal guidance and support on a wide range of areas, including litigation, corporate governance, field operations, real estate, HR, labor and employment matters. You will also retain, supervise and assist outside legal counsel in analyzing and processing matters, and provide guidance and instruction to our Legal Department's support staff.

Requirements

We are looking for a motivated self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills, who can clearly and succinctly explain legal concepts in a non-technical manner to non-lawyers. You should have a JD degree from an ABA accredited law school and a minimum of 4 years relevant legal experience. You should also be proficient in Microsoft Office suite and internet research, and have the ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and set priorities in a fast-paced environment.
