Job Summary:

The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive medical services to incarcerated patients, including routine and emergency care, chronic disease management, and health education. Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary and specialty care services to incarcerated patients, including health screenings, vaccinations, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions.
  • Conduct regular health assessments, develop treatment plans, and coordinate care with other healthcare providers as needed.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care transitions and optimize patient outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest medical guidelines, research, and best practices to deliver evidence-based care.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of patient encounters, including diagnoses, treatments, and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in nursing from an accredited program.
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of employment.
  • Board certification in a relevant area of practice (e.g., family nurse practitioner, adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in corrections or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
