About the Role:
This role involves providing high-quality respiratory care to patients in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills and be able to establish strong relationships with patients and their families. With autonomy in ventilator management protocols, our RRTs prioritize job duties according to patients' needs and ensure timely completion of care interventions. Additionally, they administer and evaluate medication therapies, perform patient transfers, and transport patients as needed.
Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of this role include acting as a patient advocate by incorporating education into the interdisciplinary care plan. This requires prioritizing job duties according to patients' needs, ensuring timely completion of care interventions, medical orders, etc. Our RRTs must be able to evaluate patient needs and provide routine respiratory care such as ABGs, bronchial hygiene therapy, and perform higher levels of care in critical care areas and emergent situations. Demonstrating independence in the specialty of Respiratory Care is also essential. Furthermore, practicing according to state requirements and standards is a must.
Critical Care Specific:
Our team members who specialize in critical care areas are responsible for ventilator management, code blue responses, airway management, interpretation and intervention with blood gas analysis, and use of all related protocols for patient care. To excel in this field, one must be able to evaluate patient needs and provide appropriate routine respiratory care, including managing life-sustaining equipment and responding effectively to emergency situations.
Qualifications and Benefits:
To qualify for this position, applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED, 2-Year Associate Degree, and be certified as an RCP in the relevant state. Novant Health offers competitive salaries, relocation reimbursement up to $7,500 at qualifying locations, and a signing bonus up to $20,000 at qualifying locations.
