Job Title: Associate General Counsel

Apogee Enterprises Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Associate General Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in protecting the company's legal interests and providing strategic guidance on commercial construction contracts and related matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage commercial construction contract review process, including negotiation and drafting of contracts, with a focus on construction and related matters.
  • Anticipate and mitigate legal risks associated with selling and running construction projects.
  • Develop and implement contract templates and processes to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Manage claims and litigation, including complex construction-related claims, and work with outside counsel as needed.
  • Provide legal counsel on a range of matters, including compliance, employment law, and contract management.
  • Support Apogee's centralized procurement function, including review and drafting of supply contracts.
  • Assist with public company reporting requirements under the US Securities laws.
  • Help ensure ethical business practices and corporate compliance, including Apogee's Code of Business Ethics and Conduct.
Requirements:
  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school, admitted to the Minnesota State Bar, and in good standing to practice law in Minnesota.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of practice as an attorney, with a minimum of five years of directly relevant work experience in construction, contracts, and agreements.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction law and contracts, with experience with government construction contracts and Federal Acquisition Regulations a plus.
