This position works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to provide patient care and support services. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with individual activities of daily living and perform basic nurse's aide skills under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
- Document patient information and provide reports to the healthcare team.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- MyMichigan Health Patient Care Technician certification or equivalent experience required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
This position requires the ability to work in a healthcare setting and may involve exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other infectious materials. The employee must be able to wear personal protective equipment and follow MyMichigan Health's bloodborne pathogen and TB testing policies.
