Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer II to join our team at Scion Staffing, a national award-winning staffing firm. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on cutting-edge software products and optimize internal processes for a forward-thinking company in Seattle, WA.

As a Software Development Engineer II, you will design and implement scalable, high-performing backend solutions using languages like Typescript, Python, Java, C#, or Node.js. You will work with AWS services (DynamoDB, ElasticSearch, S3, SQS) and occasionally Azure, developing robust web scraping and web crawling solutions, leveraging automated browsers and bot detection tools.

You will collaborate on enterprise-level solutions, including the development of ML/LLM technologies and generative AI systems (e.g., AWS Bedrock, Claude, OpenAI). You will participate in the full software development lifecycle (design, build, document, test, deploy), building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, test automation, and system monitoring.

To be successful in this role, you will need 3+ years of professional experience in software development (2+ years acceptable for exceptional candidates). You will require a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). Strong backend development skills with some full-stack capabilities are essential, along with proficiency in programming languages such as Typescript, Python, Java, C#, or Node.js.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS services; DynamoDB and ElasticSearch are highly desirable. Familiarity with web scraping technologies (e.g., Selenium, Puppeteer) and knowledge of machine learning or large language models (LLMs) are also beneficial.
