Role Summary:
We are seeking a skilled individual to fulfill the dual role of Certified Medical Assistant and Medical Receptionist on a full-time basis. This position requires a commitment of 28 hours per week, from Monday to Thursday, with compensation based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Certified Medical Assistant, your duties will include:

  • Preparing examination rooms and ensuring they are adequately stocked.
  • Assisting healthcare providers with patient care, including conducting lab tests and administering medications.
  • Educating patients regarding medication and dietary plans.
  • Maintaining precise medical records and managing billing information.
  • Overseeing medical supplies and equipment.
  • Ensuring patient confidentiality and remaining informed about industry developments.
  • Communicating effectively with both patients and staff.

As a Medical Receptionist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Professionally managing incoming phone calls.
  • Scheduling patient appointments and verifying insurance coverage.
  • Addressing patient inquiries and assisting with billing matters.
  • Accurately updating patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Contacting patients for appointment confirmations and reminders.
  • Performing clerical tasks such as greeting patients, managing correspondence, and coordinating referrals.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
  • Current and active CMA, CCMA, or RMA certification, or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in a medical office or healthcare environment is preferred.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems, preferably Athena.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and telephone skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance verification processes is a plus.
