Job Summary

New York Health is seeking a highly skilled Urology Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care in a collaborative joint practice with physicians.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for individual patients
  • Provide Urology care, including assessing patient/family needs and providing education
  • Initiate and document appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response within practice protocol; prescribes drug therapies per protocol/Physician consultation
  • Assist physicians and performs procedures as needed; conducts patient assessments
  • Manage the administration of IV, and oral medications, vascular access device maintenance and monitoring, chemotherapy/immunotherapy administration, blood administration, therapeutic phlebotomy, assessment of patient symptoms and the management of side effects, and overall collaboration on patient treatment plans
  • Supervise the activities of clinical nursing and support staff
  • Mentor new mid-level providers
Requirements
  • Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program for nursing education and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program or PA from an accredited program
  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state
  • Current state licensure as Nurse Practitioner/Physician assistant
  • Practical experience working in Urology preferred
