Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures using computed tomography (CT) scanners. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the highest quality images are obtained for accurate diagnoses and treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintains equipment for proper diagnostic imaging, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards are met.
Sets up and adjusts equipment dependent on the exam being performed, utilizing your knowledge of anatomy and physiology to obtain the maximum diagnostic image corresponding to body parts.
Accepts patients and assesses their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements, explaining and preparing the patient for the exam requested.
Reviews patient charts and requests with the radiologist to ensure the proper examination and diagnostic results are obtained.
Quality controls all images, maintains inventory, and adheres to safety regulations, participating in training of department personnel, including students.

Requirements:

Two (2) year degree in Radiological Sciences or equivalent experience.
ARRT certification/eligible in Radiography and West Virginia State Licensure.
One (1) year of experience in Radiology and CT, with a strong foundation in anatomy and physiology.

Exposure to minimal radiation within the national standards of occupational guidelines, monitored by Radiation Safety and use of dosimeter.
Exposure to airborne particles and bodily fluids.
Operation of imaging equipment with automated moving parts.

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to interact positively with patients, families, and members of the Health Care Team.
Ability to prioritize and deal with a variety of situations simultaneously.
Ability to improvise with altered positioning techniques, manipulation of the equipment, and accessory devices when routine positioning is compromised due to patient's condition, age, or ability.

Additional Information:

This is a non-exempt position, working 40 hours per week, with a scheduled shift of days. The successful candidate will be a team player, committed to delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our diagnostic imaging department at WVU Medicine.
