Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a skilled Boiler Technician to perform advanced mechanical maintenance tasks related to the inspection, repair, installation, and modification of boiler systems and associated equipment. This role includes preventive maintenance and routine servicing to ensure optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair boiler systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional clients. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues within these systems.
    • System capacity: 500,000 BTU to 200 HP
    • Brands: Lochinvar, York Shipley, Hurst, Superior, Johnson, among others
    • Equipment types: High and low-pressure steam boilers, hot water heating boilers, high-efficiency boilers, water heaters, sterilizers, and all related components
    • Service applications: Commercial, Industrial, and Institutional
  • Travel to various job sites within the service area, coordinating with dispatch to maintain schedules and communicate any delays to clients.
  • Be available for night and weekend shifts on a rotating basis to address emergency service needs.
  • Ensure the company vehicle is in good working condition, including regular refueling, reporting mechanical issues, and completing monthly vehicle inspections. Regular cleaning of the vehicle is also required.
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of parts, tools, and safety equipment in the vehicle.
  • Understand pricing structures and generate accurate customer invoices on-site.
  • Document all installed equipment upon arrival, including make, model, serial number, fuel type, necessary test measurements, and photographs as needed.
  • Diagnose various service issues, procure replacement parts, calibrate systems according to manufacturer specifications, and clearly communicate the issues and solutions to customers.
  • Engage in company-sponsored training to stay updated on the latest industry technologies.
  • Identify and report potential opportunities for additional business, including newer systems, service contracts, and supplementary services.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of UA Apprenticeship or technical school preferred.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • Preferred certifications include Journeyman HVAC License, Master HVAC License, EPA, CFC Certification, and Journeyman Maintenance.
