Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Orlando Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and performing diagnostic imaging procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention.

Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures to demonstrate anatomy and/or physiology for interpretation and/or intervention.
  • Exercise professional judgment in the performance of services and maintain a demeanor that is conducive to quality care.
  • Deliver appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
  • Comply with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
  • Adhere to Orlando Health's mission statements and strategic imperatives.
  • Assess the patient's physical condition and age-specific needs.
  • Provide instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
  • Perform proper patient identification, acquire patient clinical history, and assure that the information is accurately documented.
  • Position patients, equipment, associated devices, and manipulate technical factors to achieve high-quality images for interpretation.
  • Assess diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated.
  • Apply principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
  • Comprehend and comply with Quality Control standards and participate in all Quality Control tasks.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in contrast medication administration.
  • Administer medical aid as required in cases of adverse reactions to contrast medication and/or other emergencies.
  • Apply appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases.
  • Assist in supervision of student technologists and training of new technologists.
  • Utilize all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
  • Ensure the safety of all customers.
  • Maintain reasonable regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies, department guidelines, and education requirements.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment.
  • Maintain well-stocked and organized work areas.
  • Provide patient transport.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida.
  • Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
  • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
