We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Orlando Health. As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for providing quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy and/or physiology for interpretation and/or intervention.
- Exercise professional judgment in performance of services and maintain a demeanor complimentary to quality care.
- Deliver appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures.
- Comply with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
- Adhere to Orlando Health mission statements and strategic imperatives.
- Assess the patient's physical condition and age-specific needs.
- Provide instructions that achieve patient cooperation and desired results.
- Perform proper patient identification, acquire patient's clinical history, and assure that the information is accurately documented.
- Position patient, equipment, associated devices, and manipulate technical factors to achieve high-quality images for interpretation.
- Assess diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that all relative anatomy is demonstrated.
- Apply principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
- Comprehend and comply with Quality Control standards and participate in all Quality Control tasks.
- Demonstrate proficiency in contrast medication administration.
- Administer medical aid as required in cases of adverse reactions to contrast medication and/or other emergencies.
- Apply appropriate standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases.
- Assist in supervision of student technologists and training of new technologists.
- Utilize all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
- Ensure safety of all customers.
- Maintain reasonable regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies, department guidelines, and education requirements.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment.
- Maintain well-stocked and organized work areas.
- Provide patient transport.
- Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
- Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida.
- Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
- Maintain current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
