Position Summary: The Maintenance Superintendent is accountable for the management of maintenance activities related to our production equipment, including the Sawmill, Planer mill, and associated facilities, while prioritizing a secure working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct the maintenance team utilizing cutting-edge technologies for both preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Oversee the plant maintenance framework, emphasizing industry-leading practices in planning, scheduling, and maintenance methodologies.
- Guide maintenance staff, ensuring they receive adequate training and are motivated to perform at their best.
- Initiate and execute projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and minimizing costs.
- Monitor and evaluate essential maintenance metrics to foster ongoing improvements.
Required Qualifications:
- Preferred post-secondary education; a background in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering is advantageous.
- 5-7 years of experience in heavy industry with a focus on team leadership.
- Experience in wood products manufacturing is a plus.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and familiarity with maintenance protocols.
- Competence in Microsoft Office software.
Additional Requirements:
- Capability to work under varying weather conditions.
- Willingness to engage in capital expenditure projects.
