Job SummaryWe are seeking a Family and/or Internal Medicine Physician to join our team at North Port Behavioral Health Hospital. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing clinical services to patients with medical and mental health problems.
Responsibilities- Provide direct care to patients, including pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment of medical and mental health problems.
- Review medical information on patients to ensure medical stability and offer medical recommendations.
- Ensure the physical health and care of patients, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
- Review and complete medical information for individual care plans.
- Direct services and information in a timely manner, maintaining appropriate confidential documentation, compliance, and billing.
- Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) required.
- One or more years' experience as a staff physician with the population served by the facility preferred.
- Current license to practice medicine, by the state in which the facility(s) operates.
- Board certification or certificate of admissibility for board certification in a behavioral health specialty.
- Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances without restrictions and per regulation within the state in which the practitioner will be working.
