Job Title: Prior Authorization and Patient Financial Advisor

This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established and respected practice, Las Vegas Urology LLP, as a Prior Authorization and Patient Financial Advisor. Our team is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care, and we are seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused individual to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contact insurance companies to obtain authorization for specialty procedures and provide benefit breakdowns to patients prior to procedures.
  • Enter authorizations into the system and communicate closely with the front office staff and patients to ensure proper collection of patient responsibility.
  • Process requests from staff for patient insurance requiring authorization for specialty procedures, including but not limited to OP office procedures, injectables, and oncology.
  • Verify insurance prior to patient treatment and notify the Doctor's office if insurance cannot be verified.
  • Reschedule appointments if authorization is not obtained.
  • Perform quality control checks on patient accounts to determine if all required documentation is correct.
  • Treat co-workers and customers with patience and respect.
  • Assist other staff members and support the team approach.
  • Arrive to work on time and be consistent with attendance.
  • Participate in educational activities and attend monthly staff meetings.
  • Maintain strictest confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Two years' medical authorization experience, preferably in a clinic setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Ability to work in a multi-task, high-energy environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and be proactive in initiating processes with little or no supervision.
  • Understanding of how other departments impact or are impacted by the Prior Authorization and Billing Department.
  • Ability to communicate appropriately and clearly with management, co-workers, and physicians.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Physical Demands:

This role requires sitting for periods of time, with some bending, lifting, and stretching required. Manual dexterity is necessary for use of the telephone and computer keyboard. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
