Role Summary:

The Foreign Exchange Operations Coordinator is tasked with overseeing the settlement processes within the Foreign Exchange Services sector. This role is critical in ensuring that all executed trades with the FX trading desk are settled accurately and punctually on the designated value date.

  • Facilitating the prompt settlement of FX trades across various trading desks and platforms.
  • Gaining proficiency in FX trade-related SWIFT messages and the necessary fields for transaction confirmations and payments.
  • Ensuring the precise settlement of FX trades according to the Standard Settlement Instructions (SSI) provided by clients and counterparties.
  • Validating FX transaction instructions for release on the value date.
  • Raising trade discrepancies to the FX trade initiation and management team as needed.
  • Identifying and leveraging opportunities to enhance post-execution processes through automation or procedural improvements.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely settlements of transactions within the bilateral netting system.
  • Monitoring the SWIFT repair queue effectively.
  • Addressing inquiries in the FX OFAC queue promptly.
  • Validating currency settlement instructions for custody, third-party, and inter-bank counterparties.
  • Preferred qualifications include a BS/BA degree and 6 to 12 months of experience in FX Operations, Derivatives, or related Financial Services.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proactive attitude towards daily responsibilities and adeptness at handling various tasks.
  • Professional communication skills with a focus on client service.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access.
  • Familiarity with core systems.
