Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Motor Grader: Safely operate a GPS and Laser Controlled Grading System motor grader to conduct rough grade work on new highways, ensuring close specification control and strict inspection.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repair work on the motor grader, including oiling, greasing, and making necessary adjustments to equipment.
  • Compliance and Safety: Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures, reporting any unsafe activities to the supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals, and communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least six (6) years of experience as a Motor Grader Operator in heavy highway and civil construction.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • Skills: Ability to communicate in English via verbal and written communications, mathematical proficiency as it relates to basic geometry, algebra, and mathematics, and manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers and perceive attributes of objects and materials.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to move throughout a construction jobsite, including minor obstacles, and work outdoors with exposure to changing weather conditions.
